Project Overview
Key Project Features
The Wilton Public School project was a comprehensive and multi-staged installation that showcases our ability to deliver a complex glazing package. The scope of work included:
Extensive Glazing Package: We supplied and installed a full suite of aluminium windows, doors, and louvres for both the ground and first floors of a two-storey classroom block and additional core facilities.
Acoustic and Thermal Performance: A key requirement was to meet specific performance standards. For internal spaces, we used 10.38mm laminated glass, and for partitions requiring a higher acoustic rating (Rw 40), we specified 12.5mm VLam Hush glass. The glazing was designed to meet Section J of the NCC and various acoustic reports.
Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) Compliance: The project had a critical requirement to meet a BAL 12.5 rating for external windows in Block H, demonstrating our expertise in providing fire-resistant glazing solutions.
Detailed Documentation and Co-ordination: As a "Design and Construct" project, our role involved engaging a certified engineer for design work and providing extensive documentation, including shop drawings, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and compliance certifications. Our team also had to coordinate closely with other trades via the Procore document control system.
Frame and Finish: All aluminium frames were supplied with a Clear Anodised finish, providing a durable and timeless aesthetic. The quote also included the supply and installation of standard flyscreens and decals for all full-height glazing.
The Result
The completed Wilton Public School project is a testament to our technical expertise and project management skills. The successful delivery of a comprehensive glazing package that meets complex acoustic, thermal, and bushfire safety standards has provided the new school with a safe, modern, and highly functional learning environment.
