Project Overview
Key Project Features
This project was a highly detailed design and construct subcontract, highlighting our capability to manage complex, multi-faceted installations. The scope of work included:
High-Performance & Thermal Glazing: The project was designed to meet a 5-Star Green Star rating, requiring all glazing systems to achieve specific thermal performance values (U-Value less than 3.7 and SHGC less than 0.45). This included the use of double-glazed units (DGU) with Low-E coatings.
Automated Systems: To improve accessibility and user experience, we supplied and installed fully automated sliding doors with battery backup and integrated safety features for emergency evacuation.
Acoustic & Safety Compliance: We provided doors and windows with specific acoustic ratings (Rw 32) to ensure a quiet and functional environment. All glazing was Grade A Safety Glass, and we installed DDA-compliant thresholds and safety decals as per AS1428.1.
Variety of Systems: The project incorporated an extensive range of systems, including bi-folding doors, manual louvres with various operation methods, and custom fixed glass panels, including a special reception desk glazing with specific cut-outs.
Co-ordination & Documentation: As a design and construct project, a significant part of the work involved providing detailed workshop drawings, ITPs (Inspection Test Plans), and certifications to ensure full compliance with NCC2019 and all project specifications.
The Result
The Green Square project stands as a testament to our ability to deliver a complex and high-performing glazing solution for a landmark public facility. Our meticulous attention to detail, from design and fabrication to on-site co-ordination and safety, ensured that the project met all its Green Star, thermal, and acoustic requirements. The final result is a state-of-the-art building that is both energy-efficient and highly functional for its diverse user base.
